So it seems, the second-favorite team of Denver basketball fans is – whatever team is playing Zhejiang Guangsha.

Wilson Chandler expects to sign with the Nuggets when his season ends with Zhejiang Guangsha — agent Chris Luchey confirmed on Wednesday night – but he can’t leave China any time sooner. Right now, his squad is 16-13 but not guaranteed a playoff spot with six games to play. The regular-season finale is Feb. 15, but the playoffs could extend in March. The NBA’s regular season goes until late April.

The 6-8 Chandler is a restricted free agent, so there had been much speculation that he would, indeed, end up with Denver this spring. Chandler will look into options of either signing for the end of this season – or a long-term deal. The Nuggets are very high on him – his career scoring average is 13.9.

“Wilson could help us right now – Wilson is a quality NBA player who can play 30 minutes of basketball every night,” said Denver coach George Karl, whose team is 15-11 and could use Chandler’s versatility, especially with all of the recent injuries. “When he gets here, we’ll try to incorporate him very quickly.”

Chandler leads his team with 25.6 points per game. Nuggets executive Masai Ujiri is expected to make a trip to China in mid-February to meet with Chandler.

Where does he fit in the rotation though? This team is already balanced rotation wise and chemistry wise. Do the Nuggets even want him? Al Harrington has taken over Chandler's bench scoring role and has been great at it so far this season. I really don't think it would be good for the Nuggets to bring him back.
